Discover how to use your email client to interact with Notis.

Notis integrates with your email, allowing you to interact with your Notion workspace directly through your inbox. With email integration, you can capture information, query your Notion databases, and manage your content all without switching applications.

Getting Started

To use Notis email integration, simply send an email to hey@notis.ai from your registered email address. Notis will process your email and respond accordingly.

💡

By default, you can use the email address you registered with during Notis onboarding. You can also add additional email aliases — see the Email Aliases section below.

How Email Context Works

Email integration handles context differently than WhatsApp and Telegram conversations:

  • Context is managed at an email thread level - every email in the same thread shares the same context window
  • This means all messages within a single thread build upon each other, creating a continuous conversation
  • Starting a new email thread creates a fresh context

When you ask Notis to send you a draft email, that email you receive is attached to the context of the original conversation that happened before requesting the draft. This feature allows you to branch out a conversation and continue it asynchronously through emails.

Attachments Support

Notis can process various types of attachments sent via email:

  • Images are fully supported and processed by Notis vision models

Use Cases

  • Email to Database Entry
    • Forward application emails, receipts, or important messages to Notis to automatically create database entries with all relevant information extracted.

  • Email Drafting Assistant
    • Ask Notis to help draft important emails, providing context and requirements. Review, edit, and send the final version from your email client.

  • Document Processing
    • Send documents as email attachments to have Notis analyze them, extract key information, and store it in your Notion workspace.

Email Aliases

Email aliases let you communicate with Notis from multiple email addresses. Each user has one main email (required) and can add alias emails (optional). Any registered email can send messages to hey@notis.ai and receive replies.

Use Cases

  • Use your work email during business hours and personal email otherwise
  • Send from a secondary Gmail/Outlook account
  • Keep different contexts separate while using the same Notis account

How It Works

  1. Your account has a main email (the one you signed up with)
  1. You can add alias emails — additional addresses Notis will accept
  1. When you email hey@notis.ai from an alias, Notis replies to that same alias address
  1. Emails from unregistered addresses are rejected to keep your account secure

Adding Aliases

You can add aliases in two ways:

  • Portal: Go to Settings → Email Aliases, enter the email, and click Add

Managing Aliases

  • View all your registered emails (main + aliases) in a single list in the Portal under Settings → Email Aliases
  • Delete aliases you no longer need via the Portal or by asking Notis to remove them
  • Update your main email address if you need to change your primary communication channel

Automatic Aliases

When you connect a Gmail or Outlook account via integrations, Notis automatically adds that email as an alias — so you can immediately start emailing from that connected account.

Limitations

  • You must have a main email set before adding aliases
  • Each email can only belong to one Notis account (no duplicates across users)
  • Aliases cannot match another user's main email

Troubleshooting

If you're not receiving responses from Notis:

  • Verify you're sending emails from your main email or an added alias
  • Check your spam folder and ensure your email service isn't blocking messages from hey@notis.ai
