Notis treats documents as first-class citizens. You can send a PDF as a voice-note attachment, ask Notis to pull a contract from your Drive, file it into your Memories, and generate a polished Word follow-up — all in the same conversation.

Read documents

Notis understands the formats you actually use day to day:
  • PDF — contracts, receipts, research papers, scanned forms
  • Microsoft Office.docx, .xlsx, .pptx
  • Plain text and code.txt, .md, .csv, .json, .py, .ts, etc.
  • Spreadsheets.xlsx and .csv are parsed as structured data, not just text
You can attach a file directly to your message, or paste a URL — Notis will download and read it. Examples
“Summarize this 30-page contract and flag any clause that’s unusual.”
“What’s the total for VAT in this invoice PDF?”
“Compare these two .docx versions and list every change.”
Want to extract data from a photo of a receipt or business card instead of a PDF? Use Images — Vision handles image-only content.

Limits

  • 50 MB per file when sent directly to the model
  • 50 MB combined across all attachments in a single turn
  • For larger files, ask Notis to upload to Drive or Notion first, then reference the link

Move documents through your integrations

Notis can upload to and download from any connected integration. The doc never has to leave the conversation — Notis fetches it, works with it, and saves it back wherever you want. Examples
“Pull the latest contract PDF from my Drive ‘Legal’ folder.”
“Save this deck to my Notion Resources database with the tag ‘Q2 review’.”
“Email this PDF to ops@acme.com with a one-line summary.”
“Add the receipt I just sent to my Expenses database in Notion.”
See Integrations for the full list of connected services and how to add more.

Save documents to your Memories

When a document should stay searchable forever — brand guidelines, account numbers, a process you reference often — save it to your Memories. Notis indexes the content so it can recall passages on demand, even months later. Examples
“Save this brand guideline PDF to my long-term memory.”
“Add my 2026 tax forms to memory and remember they’re stored there.”
You can also drag files into the Memories section of the portal. See Memories for the full reference.

Create and edit documents with skills

Skills give Notis the muscle to actually produce polished documents — not just text. The right skill turns a brief into a formatted Word doc, a receipt pile into a clean spreadsheet, or a content outline into a slide deck.
FormatPowered by
PDFreportlab, pdfplumber, pypdf
Word (.docx)python-docx
Excel (.xlsx)openpyxl
PowerPoint (.pptx)python-pptx
Examples
“Turn this brief into a 3-page PDF proposal with our logo on the cover.”
“Add a ‘Risks’ section to the attached spec.docx without rewriting the rest.”
“Build an expense XLSX from these receipts grouped by category.”
“Generate a 5-slide pitch deck from these talking points.”
Browse the catalog at Skills — many document skills are pre-installed, and you can create your own with a brand voice or template baked in.

Common questions

What file types can Notis read? PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, MD, CSV, JSON, and most common code formats. Image-only files (JPG, PNG) are handled through Images. Can Notis OCR scanned PDFs? Yes — Notis automatically falls back to OCR when a PDF has no embedded text layer. Can Notis sign PDFs? Not directly. Notis can fill out fields and prepare a signed-ready PDF, but signing happens through your e-signature service (DocuSign, HelloSign, etc.).
