The when. An automation is a saved instruction with a trigger. Once it exists, Notis runs it without you having to ask.Documentation Index

Three trigger types
Schedule — runs your instruction on a recurring cadence.“Every Friday at 5pm, send me a summary of the tasks I completed this week.”Webhook — generates a unique URL. Whatever calls the URL fires the automation. Great for Notion, Zapier, Make, or anything that can hit a URL.
“Create a webhook automation that drafts a follow-up email when I trigger it from my CRM.”Integration trigger — runs when something happens in a connected app.
“30 minutes before any calendar event, send me a meeting prep brief.”For the full reference and trigger options, see Customize → Automations.
Set one up
The fastest way is to ask Notis directly from any channel:“30 minutes before any calendar event, send me a meeting prep brief covering attendee context, prior emails, and three questions to ask.”Or build one from the portal:
- Ask Notis for a link to your portal: “Send me my portal link.”
- Open Automations → New Automation
- Add a name, prompt, channel, and trigger
- Click Create
Reminders are one-shot automations
A reminder is just a scheduled automation that runs once. The fastest way to set one:“Remind me on December 13th to send a follow-up to Matt about the workshop.”Notis confirms the reminder, and on December 13th sends you a message in the channel where you originally asked. For more on managing reminders (including recurring ones), see Reminders.
Manage automations from any channel
Once an automation exists, you can run, edit, pause, and delete it from any channel:“List all my automations.”
“Edit my Meeting Prep automation to fire 15 minutes before instead of 30.”
“Run my competitor analysis automation on poke.com.”
“Disable my weekly summary automation.”
“What was the status of the last automations that ran?”
